Kitchen. NEED HELP!!

OK, I feel like I am back on track again. My mind is starting to slow down and not be overwhelmed with life.  I basked in all your comments on the "wishes" and realized how awesome it is that no matter where we live, how we learn to survive, what our personality is- there are basic wishes that run straight across the board of women souls and we're WOMEN!!!!  Sometimes I start feeling like I'm the only one still struggling, that everyone else has "arrived"....

SO..... the mind is back to kitchen. Weldon and I sat down last night and drew up some plans and I get so nervous because eventually I MUST MAKE UP MY MIND!!!! So, I have pretty much.

Big problem being countertop. I am not a vintage kitchen person. I like crisp, clean, kitchens with no themes.  I love love white. I love that awesome blue that you find on old swinging windows which I can't describe. Not that blue that's on willow ware plates or whatever they are called.

So. Do I do black countertop? Butcherblock? I don't want browns in the kitchen so no marbly brownish swirl. All the kitchens that I'm drawn to either have black or awesome marbly white but of course marble is out of the question... So if you guys have redone kitchens...have ideas....

Here's what one of the walls will look like. I already posted this picture on fb so ya'll pry saw it. I actually think I am going to do the subway tiles but in white...maybe. The walls are going to be horizontal slats painted white so maybe that's too much texture?  and we were going to salvage  our old windows that swing in and clasp in the middle...they are DARLING but W thinks they are too far gone. I was going to do that awesome old blue on them. So now I'm worried that I'll have too much white going on...White ceiling, white walls, white cabinets....white window sashes...hmmm...

No island happening and I'm sure the lemons would be flying over my head...

Sorry if decorating bores you. I LOVE looking at my Coastal Living, Cottage Living and BHG magazines. It's just me, I guess.

ok, off to clean up the kids bedroom. I still need to finish that room and then maybe I can post some pics. I HATE doing those finishing touches that take a room from functional to awesome and cozy. i lack the creative chromosome.....

I wish......

  .......that I was never mean spirited.  That I could always applaud someone totally rocking the outfit.  Not willing their baby to puke all over it.

......that I knew what to think about my beliefs. No matter who is believing what and NOT believing what...it would never shake my shaky Christianity.

......to  be alone for an entire week.   I can't think anymore. I don't even find Eden cute.  Conversations of any kind are not doing a thing for my damaged soul.

......I knew if I made the right decision to not give any more vaccines to my kids. Please, no feedback on this one!!

.....I had more confidence. Then I could ditch the annoying habit of ALWAYS second guessing myself as soon as someone seems that they have it figured out more than me.

.......I had long slender hands. Trivial, but still  a wish of mine!!!

.......that I had a stereo that worked.  Music is soooo healing to me.  And talk shows. I love talk shows and just talking ppl on radios. Even Dick Bender of 92.3!!!

..... that summer wouldn't have slipped through my hands.

So what do you wish?

Sunday afternoon. Kids sleeping. Packers playing. Rams losing. RAINING!!!!.  This is a good Sunday.

Every 6 weeks or so I feel the need to recharge at home while kids and husband head off to church. today was one of those Sundays. Laying in bed til waaay too late also added to the need to unwind by the time I got 3 girls all  ready for churchy....

I wish there was some way to be lazy and still get places on time.

I love little beauty tips. Not that you would know it by my sunspot speckled face!  But I was reading somewhere that yogurt is great as a face moisturizer. Or maybe as a cleanser. Now I can't remember which. I DO  remember that you just put it on as face mask and let set for 20 minutes or so. Also, scrub hair down with Mayonnaise before shampooing. Extra shine, I guess. Ew. I can't stand the smell of mayo. I used to have the job of washing my mom's vines down with mayo. Yes. Every leaf.  And I can remember walking by those plants and gagging on the smell of Kraft Mayonnaise!!

So we're getting ready for our annual Cranberry Festival here in Stone Lake. It's a great place to spend Lots of money on food!! Otherwise, I could totally skip browsing through booth after booth of overly priced crafts and whatnot's. altho I did get an old enamel pan one year...BUT the great news of this festival is that we get to park cars in our yard and make a little much needed money. Oh sweetness!!!  

So this week is dedicated to getting our little Hickville property looking snazzy and spiffed up for the weekend. Also, My bro Bill and family are planning on coming over so it's good food being made and a continual line for the shower in our one bath house. We really need to get another bathroom.  Right after our kitchen, I guess. Speaking of kitchen, here's the progress....

Here she is in all her glory!!  This pic is at least 1 or 2 years old but really nothing much changed significantly!! Same ugly walls as when we moved in. Same drafty windows......

So the plasticed area is where the bar was and  if you could, you would be looking right into the dining room  and on into the living room. There's about  2 feet of wall above this entryway and we want to totally knock this whole doorway out and and get rid of that 20 inches of wall on the right there. The sink was right below that window there and we are moving the sink behind us and totally blocking up that window there. The sink wall is going to be all windows or at least 3/4 so it's going to be Hello, Sunshine!!!! As you can tell I am extremely excited that we are actually doing this. Right now we have our kitchen downstairs so that's a good thing too because I use the stairs about 20 times more often which is hopefully going to work it's charm on miss thunder thighs here!!

I'll post more pics as things happen. Which will be pretty slooooowly.

Here's the  partition where the bar rested on..... Yep, we're in for a lot of dust with this demolition.

I need to be downstairs cleaning.

I want a hot fudge sundae with toasted pecans SO BAD.

I need to work out.

Wish I wanted to work out as badly as i want to inhale the sundae.

I want my new kitchen NOW.

I'm frustrated.

I wish I had a stash of cash.

I wonder if ppl know when they're about to have a nervous breakdown.

Are those 5 hr energy potions safe?

I love our 4 minutes for $.50 vacuum at the local carwash.Van now vacuumed twice weekly for $1.00. 

Girls and Weldon at soccer so I could work on kitchen.

L.I.F.E.......

   I love this time of night. 11:40, precisely.  The only sound is me and the beautiful breathing of sleeping cherubs.

I'm usually long gone but tomorrow is Jacqui's first day of school and I promised her that I would make a bookbag. It sounded so easy a month ago when she said she wanted one....so of course I could wait till 12 hrs before school begins! If I do say so myself-and i do- it looks pretty snazzy for an amateur like me. I had this mini of all mini skirts that I had gotten somewhere and because it IS  really cute and because I am turning into a pack rat of anything denim, I just kept hanging onto it. So I used that for the top part of the bookbag and then cut some khaki off of one of  weldon's old pants which frugal me had decided not to pitch. Hey, you never know!! So it's denim on top and khaki on the bottom and khaki straps. Then i put a green dotted ribbon through the belt loops and voila! a bookbag. The reason I'm describing it vs showing a pic is because for some odd reason they won't upload. I just tried and every other picture on my camera shows up but not the bookbag ones. Very weird. But it IS almost midnight after all and to try to figure out electronics would surely end in disaster.

I'm not sure I want to even try to fill in the details of our lives...

went to Kentucky for a  week. Got back last Thursday. Had a wonderful time of being with Mom and Dad and seeing good friends.  

I just realized that Eden is playing with Aleiyah's dear pet catepillar so aptly named "Caddy". It died from overexposure to sun's reflections...We left it for Grandma...

I just love that sky behind Isabelle and the beautiful daisy beside Jacqui.  And I love the girls.

On the way home we got  a motel. Now, I don't know what it is exactly about motels that make our girls jittery with happiness but happy to the point of ridiculous they are!!!

Isabelle is doing the excited "motel jumping" then she and Aleiyah do a motel waltz in sheer delight of YAY! SLEEPING IN  A MOTEL. the pool might have added to the hype a little maybe....possibly.

    Aleiyah started Kindergarten last Friday. I decided she could use the extra learning before first grade so I registered her at Stone Lake Elementary which is all of 3 blocks away!!  Jacqui has been pumping her for all the details and Aleiyah is just thrilled to have one over on Jacqui! It is driving Jacqui crazy that Aleiyah doesn't even know the girl's name who sit's right beside her!! I heard Aleiyah telling Jacqui that she doesn't need to know EVERYTHING!!!

Izzy was as excited as Aleiyah, I think. Had to go drag out her own backpack

     Jacqui patiently waits for tomorrow to come...I think she's finally ready to go back to school.

The next month is full of tearing down the kitchen and hopefully keeping our sanity....so far it is going wayyyyy slower that it was suppossed to. Why does this sound so familiar?
